Tanglewood Elementary School

Students in the running clubs from Lily B. Clayton Elementary and Tanglewood Elementary Schools participated with hundreds of other kids in The Cowtown races Saturday. Lily B. Clayton and Tanglewood, among many other schools, set up booths in the Amon Carter Exhibit Hall, where they met with their teams to prepare for the race.

Runners take your mark---Saturday more than 125 students in grades third through fifth from the 109 will join hundreds of kids participating in The Cowtown races. Running clubs from both Tanglewood and Lily B. Clayton Elementary Schools have been practicing for months working on correct running form, building endurance and learning to pace themselves.

Some Tanglewood Elementary School students are running sprints and learning how to live healthier lifestyles as an extracurricular activity.

Tanglewood Elementary hosted its annual Fall Carnival last Friday. The event was open to the community, with an estimated 500 families in attendance. The carnival included booths with games, arts and crafts, food, and other items and activities such as moon bounces and inflatable slides.

Tanglewood Elementary held its first ever Fun Run on Wednesday, Oct. 5, to generate extra funds for the school. Each student participated in a 30-minute run in which they earned money for each lap they completed.
