Muggy weather didn’t stop University Christian Church’s Fall Kickoff event on Sunday that showcased clubs and activities planned for the upcoming year.

The University Christian Church of Fort Worth made dreams come true for high school girls in the 109 and all over the city.The UCC gifted prom dresses to more than 60 high school girls, whose budget did not allow them to purchase the items needed to attend prom, through their ministry, Prom Dreams. The church set up a boutique style shop, located next door to the church. Dresses, shoes, purses, and jewelry were all available for students to come and pick out free of charge.

The Canterbury Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys of Canterbury, England performed at University Christian Church Thursday. UCC and Trinity Episcopal Church partnered to co-host the concert performed by part of the 42-member choir in the UCC sanctuary. The concert at UCC was one of nine stops on Canterbury Choir’s April tour across the nation. The choir will continue its tour along the West Coast, through California, Oregon and Washington.

Mugamba Wilkins is not the average 10-year-old boy. As a chorister for the Canterbury Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys, Wilkins along with the 30 boys and 12 professional singers form the prestigious English choir, whose voices grace the cathedral and all the places they travel to around the world. The choir performed at University Christian Church on Thursday as part of its national tour.

University Christian Church and Trinity Episcopal Church have partnered to co-host a concert by the choir in the UCC sanctuary. The 90-minute performance will include a number of traditional masterpiece choral works.
